Caribbean Draw Poker strategy
With Caribbean Draw Poker showing up at online casinos, I thought I’d take a look at strategy for the game. First, my simple Caribbean Draw Poker strategy. If at a casino, gather your chips and your drink and mozy over to the Video Poker Machine. Because Video Poker Strategy is probably easier to learn and has better odds.
So, you’re going to stick it out at the Caribbean Draw Poker table? If you’re playing online, I suggest playing a few practice rounds for free until you get your strategy under control and are sure this is the game for you. Keep in mind, the house edge at Caribbean Draw Poker is over 5%. But a good strategy can save you. The problem there is that there is no one out there who completely understands Caribbean Draw Poker strategy. It’s not as straightforward as Video Poker or even Caribbean Stud Poker. But your choices here are basically - fold or draw.
So, the easy hands. These are the obvious winning hands - flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush and the royal flush. Just hold these and collect your winnings. Okay, the dealer could beat you, but chances are you’ll win with one of these hands. With a straight, you hold unless you could potentially draw a signal card for a royal or straight flush.
Three of a kind or two pairs mean you want to hold the winning cards and try to draw to a four of a kind or full house.
Pairs of cards you want to hold the pair unless you could potentially break it to draw to a royal flush or straight flush. But this is where the game gets very complicated with a variety of strategies depending on what you hold and what you can see the dealer holds. As I said, no one really is a complete expert on the game.
Oh, and if you don’t have anything that makes a winning hand, well of course you’ll hold the cards that give you the best possibility of a win. If all else fails, just hold the three highest cards and hope for at least a high pair. It could happen.
et for a progressive jackpot that they’ll win if dealt a Royal Flush. The odds on getting the royal are pretty low, but the pay out can be high.
